laurence olivier puts in an incredible performance in what’s essentially a 60’s british “angry young man” film (though Olivier’s character is middle-aged); I’ve seen a few of this type of film but find them difficult to watch and this is no exception. Olivier’s performance, however, is sublime - you almost wouldn’t realize how good it is if you haven’t seen him in another film first.
